About ZZULI

Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (ZZULI) established in 1977 is a featured key university in Henan Province, and an International Characteristics Pilot University in Henan Province.

ZZULI is located in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan Province, which is a historic city with over 3,600 years of history. Zhengzhou boasts rich cultural heritage, including the Shang Dynasty ruins and the iconic Shaolin Temple nearby. Known as the Cradle of Chinese Civilization, Zhengzhou blends traditional culture with modernity. It is a hub for martial arts, calligraphy, and Yellow River culture.

ZZULI has 3 Campuses with an area of about 1.5 million square meters. The University now has about 2,300 faculty members, more than 36,000 full-time undergraduate and graduate students. It has 2 postdoctoral research stations, 4 first-level disciplines authorized to offer doctorate degrees, 17 first-level disciplines authorized to offer master’s degrees.

The university's international cooperation and exchanges are extensive and in-depth. It has entered into partnerships with more than 100 universities, institutions and international organizations in more than 30 countries, and has jointly trained undergraduates and graduate students with many world-renowned universities and offered scholarship for international students.

Eligibility

1. Applicants must be a non-Chinese resident, with a valid passport or international identity certificate;

2. Abide by the laws and regulations of the Chinese government and the rules and regulations of the university;

3. Applicants should be at least 18 years old, in good health, and have no criminal record;

4. Language student applicants must have a high school diploma or above, and generally not exceed the age of 35;

5. Master's degree applicants must have a bachelor's degree or above, and generally not exceed the age of 40;

6. Master's degree applicants, majoring in Chinese language teaching, must achieve a score of 180 or above on HSK Level 4 in Chinese; English taught majors require an IELTS score of 5.5/TOEFL IBT80/Duolingo 100 or above (excluding native English speakers). Applicants who do not meet the Chinese language standards can take the Chinese language preparatory courses offered by our university first.

Chinese Language Program

The Chinese language training program aims to enhance learners’ comprehensive Chinese proficiency and deepen their understanding of Chinese history and culture through a systematic curriculum and a series of cultural experience activities.Our experienced and professional teaching team has provided Chinese teaching for more than 400 students and achieved outstanding results. Many students have successfully applied to Chinese universities after completing the courses.

MBA Program

MBA Program of the School of Economics and Management provides high-quality education and guidance for students to understand cutting-edge business knowledge, cultivate cross-cultural sensitivity and interpersonal communication skills, and gradually grow into high-level international business talents through innovative curriculum and excellent faculty. The School of Business Administration is a key discipline in Henan Province, the Laboratory of Neuromanagement and Intelligent Decision making is a key laboratory for philosophy and social sciences in Henan Province, the Industry and Innovation Research Center of ZZULI is a key research base for humanities and social sciences in Henan Province, and it also has a new type of university think tank in Henan Province. This project has three research directions: cross-border operation and management, international investment, and digital trade, focusing on cultivating excellent management talents who can master cutting-edge technology, conduct scientific research and application, and adapt to the needs of economic and social development.

Design Program

Design Program is provided by the School of Art and design. The school has a professional master's degree program in design. Design is a key discipline in Henan Province and a key project discipline for the construction of doctoral units in Henan Province. Graduate students have achieved success in their studies, are capable of handling design practice, design research, or design teaching work, and have received praise and recognition from employers, with good career development prospects.

Electrical Engineering Program

Electrical Engineering program is provided by the College of Electrical and Information Engineering, which has 11 provincial-level scientific research platforms, including the Henan Intelligent Microgrid International Joint Laboratory. The college has a doctoral degree program in electrical engineering, 2 academic master's degree programs in electrical engineering and control science and engineering, and 4 professional master's degree programs in electrical engineering, control engineering, artificial intelligence, and robotics engineering. The college obtained the authority to confer a master's degree in Electrical Engineering in 2011.

Chemical Engineering and Technology Program

Chemical Engineering and Technology Program is provided by the College of Materials and Chemical Engineering. The college has a doctoral degree program and postdoctoral research stations in this discipline, which is a key discipline at the provincial level. It began admitting master's students in 2002 and was granted the authority to confer master's degrees in first level disciplines in 2011. In recent years, more than 20 doctoral students have been jointly trained with universities such as Camerino in Italy and Wollongong University in Australia. Master's students at Nat Published multiple papers in top journals such as Commun., Adv. Mater., Adv. Energy Mater. The college has established 10 provincial and ministerial level disciplinary platforms, including the Henan International Joint Laboratory of Crystalline Microstructure Materials and the Henan Key Laboratory of Surface Science.

Mechanical Engineering Program

Mechanical Engineering Program is provided by the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering. The college currently has both doctoral degree and master degree programs in mechanical engineering. The College also has 10 provincial and ministerial level disciplinary platforms and over 1400 sets of various instruments and equipment.

Food Science and Engineering Program

Food Science and Engineering Program from the College of Food and Bioengineering has been successively selected as a first level key discipline for key construction in Henan Province, a first level key discipline in Henan Province, the first batch of advantageous characteristic discipline group construction projects in Henan Province, and a characteristic backbone discipline group in Henan Province. In 2021, the college obtained the authority to confer a doctoral degree program, and the ESI global ranking of agricultural science has entered the top 5 ‰

Software Engineering Program

The Software Engineering is one of the first batch of national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and a certified major in China's engineering education. The College of Software has master's degree programs for software engineering and electronic information. Software engineering is a key discipline in Henan Province. The college has four provincial-level disciplinary platforms, including the Henan Image Processing and Intelligent Application Engineering Technology Research Center. In recent years, the college has undertaken 11 projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 53 provincial and ministerial level projects, and won 7 provincial science and technology progress awards; Published over 300 academic papers, including more than 200 SCI and EI indexed papers; More than 200 authorized invention patents and software copyrights have been obtained; Published over 30 textbooks and works.

Electronic Science and Technology Program

Electronic Science and Technology Program is developed based on the undergraduate majors of Electronic Science and Technology and Communication Engineering approved in 2001. In 2019, it was approved as a master's degree authorization category in Electronic Information, and in 2021, it was approved as a key project for the construction of professional doctoral degree programs in Henan Province. There are five disciplinary platforms, including the Henan Provincial Key Laboratory of Magnetoelectric Information Functional Materials, Henan Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center for Optoelectronic Sensing and Information Processing, Zhengzhou Key Laboratory of Weak Signal Detection and Processing, Zhengzhou Key Laboratory of Information Optics and Optoelectronic Technology, and Zhengzhou Key Laboratory of Quantum Sensing and Artificial Quantum Materials.

Artificial Intelligence Program

Artificial Intelligence Program has a teaching and research team led by professors and young PhDs, who lead the establishment of 8 provincial-level platforms, including the Henan Province Key Laboratory of Food Safety Data Intelligence. There are 2 national first-class courses and 7 provincial quality course. The discipline has 3 characteristics: (1) Using formal methods and deep learning techniques to make breakthroughs in measuring and ensuring the trustworthiness of intelligent software; (2) Using machine vision and intelligent processing technology to solve assisted driving problems; (3) By utilizing bioinformatics and intelligent sensing technology, a new type of biosensor is developed to overcome the challenges of heart image segmentation and DNA nanostructure information encryption technology, revealing the human control mechanism in hybrid mode.

Physical Education Program

Physical Education Program is provided by the School of Physical Education. The school is responsible for teaching public physical education courses, conducting physical health tests, organizing sports events, and organizing sports training competitions throughout the university. The school has won multiple national and provincial teaching and research awards, and its teachers have published multiple international high-level academic papers and participated in international academic conferences multiple times. It attaches great importance to external exchanges and has cooperated with various institutions such as the Gdansk Institute of Physical Education in Poland and the University of Almeria in Spain in course construction and student development.

International Chinese Language Education Program

The program is provided by the School of Foreign Languages, which currently recruit undergraduate students majoring in English, Korean, and Chinese international education, academic master's students in international business English, and master's degree students in translation and teaching Chinese to speakers of other languages. The program mainly offers three directions: second language teaching and acquisition, Chinese culture and communication, and cross-cultural communication.

Application Procedure

1. Log in to the international student application system of Zhengzhou University of Light Industry (http://apply.zzuli.cucas.cn),register an account, upload materials and submit the application as required.

2. After the application materials are approved, a video interview will be arranged.Upon successful interview and payment of the fee, the admission letter will be issued.

3. International students should bring the Admission Notice, Visa Application for Study in China (JW202)Form, and all application materials, arrive at Zhengzhou University of Light Industry on required time, and go through relevant procedures.
